The pressure was on for the 2012 Olympics to deliver, and well, it did! We saw home-grown and international athletes taking to the stage to perform in what was arguably one of the most successful sporting events to date.

It was a proud moment for Bradley Wiggins on Sunday as he took the 2012 BBC Sports Personality of the Year award.
