Barclaycard Unwind and Choice FM joined forces to find a super producer who could create a masterpiece suited for the man of the moment, Wretch 32.

The Music Potential competition has been set up to give young people a chance to really shine in the music industry.

Today 23 year old Osasu Oyemwimina aka Sasman was announced the winner of Barclaycard and Choice FM’s I Have a Choice – Music Potential competition, beating hundreds of submissions for a sought after studio session with Retro Boy.

Sasman said of his win: “I am ecstatic about today, it really has been a life changing experience. Out of the hundreds that submitted their tracks I was chosen. This really has confirmed for me that, yes I can produce, I am able to make music and all those voices that say ‘you can’t do it’ this is confirmation that I can. Working in the studio with Wretch 32 has been an amazing experience he was so humble, he gave me lots of advice from a musical perspective, he said the track could be played in the clubs which is where I really want it played. It’s been a great day.”

Ambassador of the event Wretch 32 said: “Supporting Music Potential has been a great experience, from sitting on the panel and giving out advice to now being able to spend some quality time with an up and coming artist is amazing.  When you are at this stage in your career, you need all the encouragement and support you can get and I hope that my involvement will inspire Osasu and others who want to have a career in music.”

If you were one of the hopefuls who didn’t make it, no fear, you can always try again next year and until then, keep promoting yourself and stay positive.
