Bill Hader voices Dr. Seuss’s iconic trickster in an animated adventure that promises mischief, magic, and one last chance to keep his hat.
Forget the Cat you think you know. Warner Bros. Pictures Animation is taking Dr. Seuss’s beloved agent of chaos into uncharted territory with The Cat in the Hat, a feature-length debut that leans into irreverence, imagination, and just a touch of existential stakes. Bill Hader voices the titular trickster, and from the looks of the newly dropped trailer, he’s playing him with the kind of manic energy that could either save childhood wonder or destroy it entirely.
Last Chance Saloon
The plot centres on Gabby and Sebastian, two siblings grappling with a move to a new town. Enter the Cat, dispatched by the Institute for the Institution of Imagination and Inspiration, LLC—yes, it’s called the I.I.I.I.—to lift their spirits. But this isn’t just another house call. The Cat’s known for taking things too far, and this mission could be his last shot at redemption before he loses his magical hat for good. It’s a premise that adds surprising weight to what could easily have been another nostalgic cash-in.
Stellar Voice Cast
Hader’s joined by Xochitl Gomez, Matt Berry, Quinta Brunson, and Paula Pell, with supporting turns from Giancarlo Esposito, America Ferrera, Bowen Yang, and Tituss Burgess. Directors Alessandro Carloni and Erica Rivinoja are steering this whimsical ship, and Warner Bros. is clearly betting big—it’s the studio’s first full-length animated feature under its Pictures Animation banner.
The Cat in the Hat lands in UK cinemas on 6th November 2026. Expect mayhem.
