Beauty Advent Calendars 2026: Which Ones Are Actually Worth It

Beauty advent calendars can be a brilliant way to stock up, try something new and make December feel a bit more exciting. The best one, though, is the box you will actually use. Not simply the one with the biggest number on the front.

Beauty advent calendars have turned into their own shopping season. The tempting part is obvious: a whole collection of little discoveries, wrapped up in something that looks lovely before you have even opened a drawer.

But a £1,000 contents claim is not £1,000 back in your bank account. If half the products are things you would never choose, that impressive-looking saving starts to lose its shine.

This is a comparison of retailers’ published 2026 contents and prices, not a hands-on unboxing or product test. Here is what looks worth a closer look, who each calendar might suit and what to check before you pay.

Beauty advent calendars 2026: the quick comparison

Checked 10 September 2026. Prices are UK prices in pounds. Contents values and full-size counts are the retailers’ claims, not independently calculated savings. Stock, offers and dispatch dates can change. Overseas readers should check delivery restrictions, local pricing and any additional charges.

LOOKFANTASTIC: a lower-priced place to start

At £120, LOOKFANTASTIC is the lowest confirmed price among the eight fully priced options above. Its 27 products include 19 full sizes, with a stated value above £665.

That makes it an interesting starting point if £250-plus is simply not your budget. The important catch is timing: the product page is taking pre-orders, so check the dispatch date rather than assuming it will arrive straight away. See the LOOKFANTASTIC advent calendars.

Boots: familiar names without the £250 spend

Boots’ £150 calendar has 24 days of openings but 27 products, including 19 full sizes. Yes, the number of doors and the number of products are different things.

The published contents include a full-size Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm and Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. If those are already on your shopping list, this deserves a proper look. If they are not, read the rest of the contents before letting the £709.59 headline value do the persuading. Explore the Boots beauty advent calendars.

Cult Beauty: check which edition you are buying

The £245 Signature Edition contains 33 products, including 19 full sizes, spanning skincare, make-up and haircare. Westman Atelier, VIEVE and Sunday Riley are among the names in the published selection.

There is also a £245 Special Edition with a different selection, including fine fragrance, and a stated value of £1,185. Do not assume the two boxes have identical contents or delivery options. The Signature Edition excludes shipping to the US, Canada and Argentina; the Special Edition has its own restrictions. Compare the Cult Beauty editions.

John Lewis: plenty to discover, including a beauty device

John Lewis lists 41 products, with 23 full sizes and 18 deluxe minis, for £250. The stated contents value is £1,160, and the selection includes a FOREO UFO 3 Mini device.

A device can make a gift feel more substantial, but only if the person opening it wants one. Count it as a bonus for the right recipient, not an automatic reason to stretch your budget. See the John Lewis advent calendars.

Selfridges: the full-size-heavy option

Forty products, 33 full sizes and a £250 price tag. On the published counts, Selfridges has the most full-size products among the calendars with confirmed totals in this comparison.

The mix includes names such as Jo Malone London, Charlotte Tilbury, Laneige and Elemis. It is worth investigating if you enjoy a broad beauty selection rather than a box dedicated to one routine. Just make sure the shades and scents appeal, too. See the Selfridges beauty advent calendars.

Harrods: focus on the products, not a savings contest

Harrods’ £270 listing specifies 32 beauty products, with Augustinus Bader, Tatcha and Charlotte Tilbury among the names inside. It also lists a £75 CurrentBody voucher: check its redemption conditions rather than treating it as cash.

We have not carried forward a contents-value figure or a full-size total that the checked listing does not clearly confirm. The useful question is whether you want this particular selection. See the Harrods beauty advent calendar.

Space NK: discovery, with an important distinction

Space NK lists 35 products, 26 full sizes and a value above £1,200 for £275.

It describes 31 products as advent exclusives, meaning they are not in other beauty advent calendars. That does not mean you cannot buy those products separately. A useful distinction if you are considering the whole box for one particular item. See the Space NK advent calendar.

Liberty: choose it for the edit

Liberty’s £285 calendar contains 29 beauty products, including 21 full sizes, plus a print drawstring bag. The retailer puts its contents value above £1,300.

This is the top-priced option here. Before getting carried away by the presentation, look through the full selection and pick out the products that genuinely excite you. A beautiful box is lovely. A beautiful box full of things you want is better. See the Liberty beauty advent calendar.

M&S: one to watch for October

M&S confirms a 13 October 2026 launch on its Christmas page. At this check, we could not confirm the price, contents breakdown or any early-access purchase conditions from that official announcement, so those figures stay off our comparison for now.

If you are hoping for a lower-priced option, keep an eye on the M&S advent calendar page rather than buying a more expensive box simply because it launched first.

How to decide whether a beauty advent calendar is worth it

Start with the products you would genuinely use. Compare their sizes and current individual prices, then ask whether buying just those would cost less than the calendar.

Full-size is useful, but it is not everything. A small perfume might be exactly what you want for a handbag; a full-size moisturiser you will never touch is still going to sit in a drawer.

Check make-up shades, fragrance preferences, duplicate products, delivery dates and any vouchers with spending conditions. For a gift, use what you know about the recipient rather than buying them an entirely new routine.

Our practical shortlist? LOOKFANTASTIC for a lower initial spend, Boots for familiar beauty names at £150, and Selfridges for the largest confirmed full-size count here. The other boxes make sense when their particular contents match your wish list. There is no universal winner.

And if none of them does? Buy a smaller gift set, or the one product you know they love. December does not require 25 drawers to be a good time.
