A brand new *free* Friday night showcase called Big Chill Live will be happening every month in Kings Cross and will follow the emerging new talent trend in hip hop, soul and funk. The launch this Friday September 9th will pesent artists of Big Dada Recordings.

All the artists will perform live at the event, which will take place every second Friday of the month, and the first show this friday will kick off with Ninja Tune’s hip-hop imprint Big Dada on the 9th September. Best known for its work with Wiley and being the force behind Roots Manuva, record label Big Dada have called in Liverpool bred Bang On! who will headline. He is a ‘funny and furious’ emcee who, as well as being a talented producer, has the knack of spinning stories and nailing metaphors. He has appeared on Radio One’s Chart Attack and will be joined by Elan Tamara, Offshore and Dobie for the launch.

Bringing a new dimension to the night is Elan Tamara, well-known for her unique sound, her music is described as heartfelt and beautifully other-wordly. She recently released the Organ EP on Big Dada and this is an opportunity to catch this very unique artist in action.

Mutli-talented Offshore, real name Ewan Robertson, is a Scottish-born artist who is making some of the most exciting electronic music coming out right now and is getting ready to release his debut album. The celebrated graphic designer takes inspiration from the moors, mountains and the folk music of his homeland and mixes it up with the urban inner city vibes of London.

Finally Dobie who recently signed to Big Dada, is a legendary figure in black British music. He has worked on two Soul II Soul albums and went on to produce London’s ‘How’s Life In London?’, recently remixing ‘’Wiley’s Numbers in Action’.

Clearly a hot bed for catching the next big thing, Big Dada gets ready to strut out some of the most vital new sounds of now. NME described Big Dada as “Not only a platform for the British urban underground but also attracts some of the most progressive wordsmiths and beat-scientists in the whole world… Big Dada are still pushing things forward.”

If you want to hear live, quality acts every month, in a great cental location, then The Big Chill Live is definitely an event for you! Happening every second Sunday, the event is completey free and the launch is happening this Friday September 9th, so make sure you get yourself there!
