On Friday October 14 you can celebrate the life of the originator of Afrobeat, Fela Kuti.
The Fela Kuti annual birthday tribute concert is being held this year in Birmingham at The Hare & Hounds. Be part of this epic event where you can celebrate his music, his fashion, his inspiring words and his even more fascinating life.
The concert will be led by Fela’s Egypt 80 keyboardist and musical director of award winning musical ‘FELA’ Dele Sosimi. Dele’s dedication to Afrobeat has contributed to the development of many musical influences in London today.
Be part of a special night of music, love and crazy performances. Fela was famous for his showmanship and his wild, outlandish concerts so therefore the night will be lived in this spirit. Fela’s and Dele’s music will be both performed on the night and Dele will be supported by DJ Ade and Bobbalin’ Hot. Come and join in the colourful celebration of Fela Kuti’s legacy!
