One of the world’s super clubs, Printworks, is set to close later this year with more than 40 shows taking place until May 1st.

A week and a half ago, deadmau5 and Kaskade joined forces to launch the Printworks Final Season in impeccable style.

With both deadmau5 and Kaskade being fundamental artists of the progressive house scene, having them as part of launching the final season felt about right.

As I’m someone who only recently got into house music last year, I didn’t know what to expect.  Whether I’d enjoy the crowd, the visuals, or even the music but nevertheless I was excited to attend my first night out at Printworks.

Before heading off to Printworks, we headed to the Mayflower nearby which is a perfect pre-drink or even date night spot a few minutes away.

It’s recommended that if you have a general admission ticket go to printworks as early as possible if you care about having a good view. As we were invited, we headed into the venue for 10:30 pm, a great time if you know you have access to the balcony (which can be purchased on their website).

Packed from front to back with die-hard fans and EDM music lovers, the atmosphere was completely euphoric the moment we walked.

From dancing crowds to a sea of people making out like it was their last night, printworks is one of those venues where the attendees are actually there for the music and a good time.

For both deadmau5 and Kaskade, the crowd immediately stopped and whipped their phones out to take a few reminders that they were watching house legends in a legendary venue!  It’s not unusual that screams are heard from front to back when an artist comes on stage but for deadmau5 it was different. It was much louder than anything I’d ever heard, proving that he is a truly respected artist in this genre.

If there’s one thing you need to know about a deadmau5 set, is that it’s not just the music but the whole production is something you need to see! With strobing lights and mindblowing visuals, you feel as if you’re being transported into another dimension and then suddenly you realise it’s 3 am and the venue is annoyingly closing.

Those who say house music is unsuccessful have obviously never been to a venue like printworks, with every show sold out and tickets only available on resale, this proves that the opinion others may have is in fact very incorrect.
