SAKAGURA – London’s much-loved Japanese restaurant and bar on Heddon Street has launched a new Ishiyaki Stone Steak menu, presented to guests on a hot lava stone grilling plate, allowing diners to grill their meat just the way they like it with a Japanese Ishiyaki style twist.

The launch of the Ishiyaki Stone Steak forms part of a brand new look ‘n’ feel menu, made better still with an incredible value lunch set for two priced at £30, available now.

Choose from 200g Argentinian Sirloin or Ribeye with Hakata fries, Sweet Potato fries or steamed rice, plus green salad and a sauce of your choice including horseradish, fresh wasabi or a Japanese inspired steak sauce – Misodare, Soyadare, Ponzu Oroshi.

Options also to choose Wagyu beef which goes perfectly with hot sake. Plus A vegetarian menu will be made available from 12th February for non-meat eaters.

We took a visit to Sakagura to samples the goodies. Cocktails, sashimi, sushi, tempura, and steaks had our taste in a frenzy as the dishes hit the table. Pound for pound, the Sakagura menu offers delicious dishes and really good prices.

dragon sashimi
Probably my favourite dish from the sushi/sashimi menu. They call this ‘The Dragon’. Grilled kabayaki eel over avocado & king prawn filled inside-out. Not cold but not hot, the Dragon is the perfect opener to the evening.

Soft Shell Crab, Nasu Aubergine, Asian King Prawn and Rekon Lotus Root makes for a nice selection of Tempura to whet your appetite
