St. Kat’s Sessions brings six weeks of world-class jazz to a bobbing pontoon on the Thames, with Nyetimber on arrival and musicians you can almost touch.
If you’ve ever wanted to feel the Thames gently rock beneath your feet while a world-class jazz vocalist performs close enough to make eye contact, St. Kat’s Sessions has you covered. London’s only floating jazz club is back for its summer season, running from Friday 17 July through 30 August at St Katharine Docks, and after multiple sold-out shows, it’s already shaping up to be one of the city’s most unique live music experiences.
This isn’t your average seated gig. The pontoon setting creates an intimacy that’s rare in London—plush seating, low lighting, and performers literally a few feet away. There’s no stage barrier here, just you, a complimentary glass of Nyetimber Classic Cuvee on arrival, and some of the finest jazz talent around. When the evening cools, warm blankets appear. It’s sophisticated without the stuffiness, and the whole thing feels like you’ve stumbled into a very chic floating living room.
The Lineup
Opening night on 17 July features Natalie Williams, Judi Jackson, and artist-in-residence Olivia Swann, fresh off her “Judy” single, backed by Jamie Safir on piano and Flo Moore on upright bass. From there, the season ramps up with some serious names.
Spilata makes a UK debut and exclusive premiere on 25 July—one to watch. Summer Camargo, who recently performed on NBC’s Saturday Night Live, brings virtuosity and energy in equal measure. Sharlene Hector, award-winning and straight out of Hercules in the West End, effortlessly moves between jazz, soul, gospel, and pop. Ian Shaw, one of Britain’s most respected jazz singers, combines masterful musicianship with humour and storytelling. Sarah King and Inés Nassara round out the calendar through August.
