Gone are the days when Brits need to dress to impress to feel good, as donning the latest lycra and working up a sweat in the gym is when Brits feel their sexiest in 2017.

Research by Virgin Active revealed that a third of Brits go to the gym before a date as working out makes them feel their best and two thirds (70 per cent) of singles want to date someone they met in the gym, as that’s when they’re feeling their most confident.

With exercise becoming the new way to feel sexy, the research found that over half of under 25s would start working out to impress someone they fancy (58 per cent).

Moreover, with an increase in people taking part in exercise, the research found that twice the number of single Brits expect to meet their partner in the gym in 2017 compared to this time last year, and over half of singles (53 per cent) will be going to the gym this Valentine’s Day in an attempt to find love.

The research by Virgin Active comes as the health club launches HEAT, a high-energy workout and its toughest and sweatiest class yet.

Those who have already found love aren’t putting down the dumbbells just yet, as one in three people claim they still feel most attractive when working out.

As a result of the research results, Virgin Active is opening up its newest and toughest class yet, HEAT to the general public, as they look to playcupid this Valentine’s Day and get single Brits feeling hot, sweaty and sexy when it launches on the 14th February.
