This season, when it comes to your locks, it’s all about opening up your personality. From hot highlights to sparkling flashes of gem tones, there is a look to suit all. Flavour hits the streets to see how you are making your hair the mane attraction…

Fugu is very much on trend with her edgy take on this year’s dip-dye hair trend, which is all over the catwalks this season, and can be seen on the heads of Lady Gaga, Alexa Chung, Drew Barrymore and Fearne Cotton. Fugu’s star look is accomplished with the help of L’Oréal Paris Excellence Pro-Keratine black and blue hair dye.

Gwendolyn rotates the colour and style of her hair regularly so it’s hard to keep up with her look. ‘I dressed up as Tank Girl for Halloween and went full force. That’s why I have this half pixie look going on,’ she says. Taking inspiration from her favourite cartoon character, Gwendolyn uses pink, orange and violet La Riche Directions semi-permanent hair colours. ‘I prefer La Riche because they don’t test on animals. That’s pretty important to me.’

Tom’s hair is almost a direct reflection of his life and style: stress-free and effortless. Tom considers David Beckham his favourite celebrity style icon, and we can see why, Tom’s also taken inspiration from this season’s dip-dye look (we’ve lost count of David’s varying ever-trendy styles). For this look, Tom uses Schwarzkopf gel and hair dye.

We spotted Sila casually strolling through the market. Despite having her hair pushed up in a ‘messy bun’ and being wrapped in an oversized knitted scarf, Sila executes effortless chic. ‘I haven’t washed my hair in weeks! I’ve literally just rolled out bed… I haven’t even brushed it.’ Well, whatever works…

With style icons such as James Dean and Morrissey, Daniel perfectly channels the 50s pompadour (giant quiff) à la Elvis Presley, Danny Zuko and original ‘Rebel’ Dean. For this look, Daniel’s hair is mounted high in the front, swept up high over the forehead, while the sides are flattened down – and it takes an entire five minutes to do, with the help of d:fi Styling Wax.

This Daniel isn’t such a perfectionist when it comes to his hair; in fact, his hair is held in place with gel from the night before! ‘My hair grows really quickly, so I change it often,’ he says. To achieve this ‘lasting’ look, Daniel uses Redken for Men Maneuver Working Wax.
