Well Xmas is only a couple weeks away so here at DownloadAMixtape.com we’ve put together another round up of mixtapes to provide a soundtrack to the holiday season that doesn’t include any 25 year old George Michael Xmas records!
A couple of weeks ago saw the release of Kano’s latest freebie ‘Girls Over Guns’. Described as a mixtape ‘strictly for the ladies’ by the man himself, he originally released the download to the first 100 females that tweeted him, but the demand was eventually too much after a few hours that he just gave the link to everyone regardless of gender. If you want something a bit harder don’t worry, Kano has promised to drop another mixtape ‘Jack Bauer 2.4’, which is supposed to be more for the man dem. March 2012 will see the 3rd annual Official Mixtape Awards (OMA), so to build up awareness of it the organizers have dropped a brand new compilation mixtape featuring all the winners of last years awards. This includes tracks from Wiley, K Koke, Dru Blu and many more, its also mixed by last years winner of the Best DJ award, DJ Play and hosted by another award winner English Frank. This next one might be a bit familiar to you and if he was selling it I would’ve said its a nice little marketing ploy to get some extra sales but of course its all freeness. So it’s the tour edition of Wiley & Whoo Kid’s – Creating A Buzz Vol.1. So what’s the difference? Well theres four new tracks added to the 15 track mixtape, so if you haven’t downloaded the original you should definitely get this new version, if you do already have the original and you like it you might as well get hold of the extra four tracks. We’re going stateside for the next one with a new 12 tracker Ludacris. This one has gathered a lot of controversy as it features the track ‘Bada Boom’, in which Luda fires shots at Drake and Big Sean. And Finally, this ones a must have! (We’re slightly biased) It’s the official DAM mixtape (winter edition). This is a blend of genres including Hip-Hop, Bashment, Grime, R&B and Dubstep, and is mixed by DJ Larizzle.
